Athena Skaleris is a member of the Banking Law Group of Boardman & Clark. For over fifteen years she has helped Wisconsin's community banks resolve the numerous tasks facing them. During her tenure with the Banking Law Group she has advised banks and bank holding companies on the acquisition of other banks and bank holding companies, assisted in the merger of bank equals, created bank holding companies and financial holding companies and assisted in the establishment and acquisition of branches. Athena has negotiated on behalf of Wisconsin's community banks to resolve issues with the FDIC, OCC, DFI and the Minneapolis and Chicago Federal Reserve. Another major part of her practice involves negotiating and drafting employment and other compensation arrangements for banks and their officers and directors. In addition, Athena works closely with the Wisconsin Bankers Association and its subsidiary, FIPCO, to expand FIPCO's loan and deposit offerings in Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and other states. She also assists the WBA's legal department with members' legal questions.
Prior to joining Boardman's Banking Law Group Ms. Skaleris was a member of the Corporate Reorganization section of the international law firm, Duane, Morris & Heckscher, where she assisted banks faced with debtors in workout situations. She is a cum laude graduate of the Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia, PA and Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA.
